The TP Battle

I'm really big on having a years supply of food on hand in case of an emergency or unemployment. In the past, this food supply has helped our family and others.

Along with food, there are a few things that I DO NOT  want to be without.  One of them is toilet paper.  I can do without a lot of things, but toilet paper is one thing that I want to make sure I have plenty on hand. Going out in the yard and picking leaves is not my idea of fun!  Especially in the winter when there are NO leaves...

Now that y'all know how important toilet paper is to me, I'd like to share with you one of my worst pet-peeves about TP!  I imagine most of you have had a similar experience...you get a new roll out, get it started, pull off a section only to find out that the 2 ply roll is off sync...you know, when the top layer is about a inch shorter than the bottom layer!

What silly little things bring out the worst in you???

  1. Uhmmm let me think! Oh I know ...all those safety ziplock frozen items...pull here to open and it is sealed so shut that I have to get the chain saw out to whack it open...!

  3. My fridge door has a weird kind of spring action going on. I can't be in there for more than about 1/2 a second or it's closing on me. Frustrating. But if that's my biggest worry on any given day... it's a good day! :) I get annoyed by that TP thing too, Becky!

    1. Coolie's Mom, getting eaten alive by your refrigerator can be pretty unnerving! Sounds like a good plot for a scary movie...LOL

  4. lolol, Oh my goodness that is Such a pet peeve of mine!

my other Pet peeves actually involve people not replacing the TP! So I use the bathroom and then I'm stranded because the roll is empty and the hidden stash under the cupboard is gone. I don't think I ask much, just if you use the last of the TP if nothing else, at least let me KNOW so I can refill the stock before someone gets stranded; although, my preferred method is just if they'd replaced the roll themselves. lol.

    1. Amber, you crack me up! I don't know how many times I've heard the kids yelling from their bathroom, "Somebody get me some toilet paper!" I have a whole drawer set aside for them to keep filled with tp and what do they do? The get 1 roll from storage and never fill the drawer! :o)

  5. My problem with TP...is that it costs so much, but we have to have it!!! As for a pet peeve....the first thing that comes to mind is when our boys won't "keep it in the water", if you know what I mean!!! ;-)

  6. I used to get frustrated that my Hubs did not put the TP on the roll when he used it all. Now, he has his own bathroom and he always puts it on. Whats up with that?

  7. I have a pet peeve with people who repeatedly slide their metal utensils across their teeth while eating. It gives me chills up my spine! LOL
My hubby is absolutely flipped out when someone puts their TP on the roll with the tp coming out from underneath! LOL

  8. So many TP pet peeves. I agree with them all. Just replace the roll is my one rule. I wish they would follow it.

  9. When people bring slippers and shoes inside my room - they already know I have a rule against it. It drives me NUTS.

  11. I know just what you're talking about!!! I've had it happen more than once. I, too, make sure I have a half shelf of T.P. in the linen closet at all times!! Little things that bother me....water on the kitchen counter...smaller stores that close five or ten minutes early, after you have rushed to get there before they close. LOTS of them do this!!!

  12. Ah, the sweet reminder of not having enough toilet paper. And not leaving the toilet seat down, yikes. Not fun when you're trying to go in the middle of the night :(

  14. Mine would be when it gets put on the roller upside down. I HATE that! But even more, I HATE when my husband doesn't flush. Ahh... glad to get that out.

  15. Captcha!! I hate it. I would rather get a note back saying my comment is pending moderation/approval from the website owner than fight with that awful Captcha nonsense...that and security codes to prove I'm not a spammer. Ugh! I love blog hopping and socializing via comments but I'm getting to the point of not wanting to leave a comment at all if I see I have to jump through hoops for it to be published.

And in my home life, I can't stand it when family members walk into the house and drop everything in their hands, plus coats, and shoes, in a big pile by the door. Or on the kitchen counter because it's the closest place to set things on. Then they leave them there for me, well intentioned to clean up after themselves, yet never seem to get around to it so I end up putting it all away. Drives me NUTS!! I'm really considering cleaning with a trash bag in the future...however that might spark world war 3 in my marriage and I wouldn't want that to happen. I love my man too much! :) Whew...now I'm really feeling better. Thanks Becky!!

  21. For some reason, I can get over the TP thing, but when I've emptied the dishwasher, which is on my list of pet peeves in itself, and then someone leaves a dish in the sink, when it could EASILY go in the empty dishwasher...now I'm annoyed.
