  4. We had some extra healthy and huge dandelions this year. Some were over a foot high. My daughter was able to lay beneath them and got a few good shots!

  9. Fantastic picture by your daughter! It is nice to view them as art work, rather than a huge pain in the rear!

The fire picture is crazy for me to see. Living in the midwest, I've never experienced anything like that.

Take care, & have a great day. (Stopping in from VB)

  11. Cathy,
You are more than welcome to post this picture on your blog. It was actually taken by her husband who is a fireman. Her name is Sarah and his name is Dennis (She doesn't blog so there is no link to her) Thanks!

  12. The dandelion picture is captured beautifully! Makes me wish we had them in our yard.

The smoke: wow, I just can't imagine seeing that ahead of me...scary!

  17. Becky Jane,
Neither one of those pics need any words to describe them! One is beauty and the other is scary. Wow! I'm wordless. :0)

  18. Sarah,
The only information available is that they're blaming it on the sever drought and high winds. But no information as to the direct cause. 4 people have died so far. It's a difficult situation with Texas being so dry and no rain.

  19. That is an amazing angle on that dandelion photo! And that Texas fire picture is so moving...

    Take care,

  20. I just got goosebumps! That fire is so close to our house, well not THAT close, but less than an hours drive.

  21. Kind of a bittersweet combination HUH? While both picts are beautiful it shows the extremes in life. From being a little kid told to blow on the dandelion and make a wish showing the beauty and magic in nature to the extreme opposite showing the wrath of mother nature during a dry season. I am not sure that was the intention by any means but that is what I first thought when I looked at them!

  22. Very nice pictures, the dandelion had to be a belly shot. However she took it, it turned out great.

  23. wow to both shots.....and i have been so self absorbed, i didn't even know about the TX fires until today- shame on me. i need to get back into the world! :P

  24. I agree with so many of the comments, both picutres are amazing but for different reasons. The dandelion picture shows how beautiful something so simple can be, and the picture of the fires is just so sad. My thoughts and prayers to all the people affected. Beautiful post Becky.

  26. Becky Jane, these pictures stand in such juxtaposition to each other. One a picture of hope and wishes; the other a picture evoking fear and prayer.

  27. The first picture was absolutely adorable! What a beautiful angle! The second was very sobering. I am lost for words now.

  31. That's a great picture of the Texas fires, but it's kind of smoky looking. Love the picture of the dandelion too. I don't see those around much anymore, but I have made my share of wishes on dandelions :)

    Thanks for visiting my blog!
