- This happened last Saturday!
The Boo's:
- The trusses were supposed to go up last Monday, but there was a glitch, so they won't go up until next Monday.
- The bid for our cabinets came in double what we had allotted for, so it's back to the drawing board.
- Stressing out, a bit, over what type of furnace and a/c to put in. We want a Bryant, but it's more expensive then the Tempstar bid out by our contractor.
Any suggestions?
We're having so much fun, despite the Boo's!
sounds like you are so busy. I will keep you in my prayers. You have a lot of choices to make.
ReplyDeleteThanks Grandma Bonnie...we need all the help we can get!
Deletehurray becky! thats exciting to see progress! miss you guys! when do you come back to our ward for the andersons homecomeing?
ReplyDeleteStill don't know when they're having their homecoming. Guess I need to get a hold of Katie!
DeleteI never realized just how much planning and decision making went into building a house. Although I really LOVE your appliances. :)
ReplyDeleteAlthough if I were to design the house, I wouldn't be disappointed in it, but all I have planned, I'd probably NEVER be able to afford it. lol. (Secret rooms, secret passageways, large wide open spaces in main rooms, large bedrooms, lots of bedrooms, reading tower...etc. etc.) lol. I just need to design myself a castle. lol.
I ♥ secret passages! I used to dream about finding them in the old house!
DeleteWow, they have really gotten started working on it, I bet it will go up fast!!! SO exciting!!!!! But where will you keep the appliances for now?? They look like state of the art!!
ReplyDeleteThankfully, Sears will hold them for us until we are ready to install them. It is exciting to see it going up! Happy Thursday!
DeleteI am soooo jealous....yes pray for me Becky Jane...but joyful over your blessings of new appliances....I would love a new washer/dryer....too cool....happy feet shuffling for your blessings! hugs
ReplyDeleteSending a prayer your way Sweetie!
DeleteWe didn't build our home but we had to almost completely redo it before we moved in. Lots of stress and I don't envy you..... but once it is finished you will be so happy. Can't wait for those pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Terry. Sometimes I make myself sick getting so excited about it all! LOL
DeleteAll those appliances... The progress in the house! Very exciting! :-) I wish I can give you suggestion on a/c but we do not have one at home :-D
ReplyDeleteSpanish Pinay
This is the first time we will have a real A/C. I guess that's one of the reasons we're stressed...
DeleteShopping for the house * squeal* I love shopping for that stuff! (hate clothes shopping and shoes) But hey get me into the department for kitchenware watch out people!! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome progress!
I like your view on shopping!
DeleteBud and I had a new home built when we were first married....well, about 4 years into our marriage. All I can suggest is, to make sure you're happy with what you get...the extra money spent now will all be worth it in the long run. Being unhappy with something makes it not satisfaction. We went through the same thing you're going through - it's stressful to be sure, but talking it through with your contractor and your mate will help get what you want, with dealing with. I can tell you what we did to cut money so we could get better cupboards and bathroom fixtures [I wanted gold instead of chrome...LOL] We decided to have our garage UNFINISHED...which saved us 1000s, and afforded us to get the better for interior. Bud and my dad finished the garage for half the price the contractor bid on....there ARE ways.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your advice. Sounds like you made some pretty good decisions.
DeleteHi Becky - how are you ? Long time no see or read :)
