  • This happened last Saturday!

The Boo's:
  • The trusses were supposed to go up last Monday, but there was a glitch, so they won't go up until next Monday.
  • The bid for our cabinets came in double what we had allotted for, so it's back to the drawing board.
  • Stressing out, a bit, over what type of furnace and a/c to put in. We want a Bryant, but it's more expensive then the Tempstar bid out by our contractor.
Any suggestions?

We're having so much fun, despite the Boo's!

  3. I never realized just how much planning and decision making went into building a house. Although I really LOVE your appliances. :)

Although if I were to design the house, I wouldn't be disappointed in it, but all I have planned, I'd probably NEVER be able to afford it. lol. (Secret rooms, secret passageways, large wide open spaces in main rooms, large bedrooms, lots of bedrooms, reading tower...etc. etc.) lol. I just need to design myself a castle. lol.

  9. Bud and I had a new home built when we were first married....well, about 4 years into our marriage. All I can suggest is, to make sure you're happy with what you get...the extra money spent now will all be worth it in the long run. Being unhappy with something makes it not satisfaction. We went through the same thing you're going through - it's stressful to be sure, but talking it through with your contractor and your mate will help get what you want, with dealing with. I can tell you what we did to cut money so we could get better cupboards and bathroom fixtures [I wanted gold instead of chrome...LOL] We decided to have our garage UNFINISHED...which saved us 1000s, and afforded us to get the better for interior. Bud and my dad finished the garage for half the price the contractor bid on....there ARE ways.
