Ummmm...

This is intended to be a FUN post about hormones, so come join the FUN and express your opinions and questions.

To all women everywhere...Now is the time for you to rant and rave and vent all your frustrations! (How's that for opening Pandora's box?  hehehe!)  Several weeks ago I asked a question to one of my bloggy friends and she thought it would make a humorous post. We want to hear what you think.

Here we go:  If God made women to be the peacemakers in the home, and if we are the ones that set the mood for the whole family each morning, then why did HE give us PMS and Menopause?

let's have some fun with this...

(NOTE: I will monitor all comments, so please nothing rude or crude...thanks.)

  1. God only knows. Seriously. He had a very odd sense of humor.

  2. Because that's how strong we are!!! He knew men could never handle it. Also, and I don't mean to be gross here, but they would also have to have periods with the PMS and I'm not sure how THAT would work! ;0)

  3. I'm sure you're looking for light-hearted responses but really I think it's so we were forced to tune our hearts toward His. As we dial the thermometer of our hearts to His regulation instead of the ever-changing tide of our hormones, we find the ultimate place of comfort.

  5. Perhaps it was because Eve disobeyed Him and because of it thought women were going to be defiant creatures?

  6. No matter what I generally get up in a good mood. HOWEVER moodiness strikes before happy hour can take affect and somebody either goes to bed crying or mad at me. I swear the older I get the shorter the time is between PMS cycles. All I can say is the morning person in me helps balance it out.

  7. It was all Eve's fault... :) If only she'd chosen chocolate over the apple. Lol! Seriously though, I agree with Shannon. And perhaps it was so we would be an example to our children that there is no such thing as perfection. At least not among our sinful selves.

  8. I love Ms. Shannon Milholland's answer above. On a more humorous side, I've always said I believe that Sarah was in the middle of a terrible hormonal moment when she gave Haggai to Abraham to bear him a child. What other explanation could there be to do something that crazy?!?!? ;-)

  9. I think it's all part of our refining process. And all those around us as well.

  10. Because the apple Eve gave Adam not only had a worm in it, but it was brown, squishy, smelled like my cat's litter box and the stem had wilted. Matter of fact, turns out it wasn't even an apple, but something we now refer to as cow pies...

I'm guessing the good Lord figured it would take an eternity to clean up that mess...

Even so, being the masters of disaster and the drama queens that we are, He knew we were the only option of the two to handle PMS while changing a diaper and asking the head of the household how his day was, after we found all of the missing socks and picked up Junior from school after he was suspended for grabbing Lily's buns in the lunch line.

  11. Because God saw how Adam handled the sniffles and knew he was going to have to come up with a better plan, that's why he created us!!! Lol! xoxo

  13. After reading all the comments I can only say. He must have known we would be strong enough to handle it all. On the funny side I would give anything to go back to PMS this Menopause stuff is crazy.

  14. I've often wondered this very thing! Honestly, sometimes it seems so "unfair" that so much depends upon us and our moods. But, then again, men do have their own challenges that must be turned over to God.

  17. LOL well maybe he gave us PMS & Menopause because at certain times those who share our home need to learn the lesson of maintaining balance and peace during a time of crisis and chaos? When we learn to remain calm during stressful times, we learn to strike a balance in life. Outside of our home, there is plenty of stress and chaos...so what better place to learn to deal with it in a positive way than from home. Just a thought.

  18. Good question? Maybe because of opposition in all things. LOL

  19. Because God didn't want men to think that He is playing favorites... Women can't be too perfect... So there! Take PMS and menopause, women! LOL

  20. I think because we are more patient than men. I mean come on, even with PMS, we can still manage to attend to our family (with or without a smile) because we know that they need us! I have times when I would have the worse day or we'd have a fight, I just go about doing what I need to do for everyone. It's called patience and love! :D

  21. Oh how the Lord does give us tests. I think that PMS and Menopause are great ways to practice leaning on the Lord. I know my eyes cross during PMS and I sure could do a better job of handing that time over to my Lord. Great thought Becky Jane. Now I need to repent, lol!

  22. I'm loving reading all of these responses! Being that I'm in the throws of hormonal rage right now, this post couldn't be more appropriate. And maybe it's because when my husband gets a cold, he's on the couch for two days...I doubt he'd be able to handle cramps and mood swings!
