God Is Interested Even In The Small Details

During my lifetime, I have witnessed so many miracles and tender mercies from God. Some were huge, and some were very small and seemed insignificant...but none the less they were amazing! I'd like to share one such moment with you.

I've been absent for quite awhile from blogging and felt it was time to share a sweet tender mercy I received the other day. As many of you know, I  have rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondilitis. Both have put me in a wheelchair and also crippled my hands so they don't work as well as I would love.

The other day I was tending my DARLING 2 year old GRANDdaughter Little S.  (Of course, all grandchildren are darling to their grandmas)

I love being a woman, mother and especially a GRANDmother. She calls me Nana, and we have such a great time together..... Anyway, to get back to my story, Little S. was hungry and I was trying to open her 'pack-pack' as she calls it.

Usually I can twist the lid with no problem, but today it just wouldn't budge. I twisted and twisted, I tried prying it off with a fork and still the lid wouldn't come off. After about 10 minutes of frustration, it occurred to me the Heaven Father could help me get this lid open. Little S. and I offered a prayer that we could get the lid open. After the prayer, I gave the pack-pack lid a twist and it came right off....does God answer even little silly prayers? YES indeed!

After the lid came off, we gave a prayer of gratitude and thanksgiving!

Mosiah 27:14 And again, the angel said: Behold, the Lord hath aheard the prayers of his people, and also the bprayers of his servant, Alma, who is thy father; for he has cprayed with much faith concerning thee that thou mightest be brought to the dknowledge of the truth; therefore, for this purpose have I come to econvince thee of the power and authority of God, that the fprayers of his servants might be answered according to their faith.

Have you had a prayer answered? I'd love to hear your experience.

  1. This is so precious....and you're teaching her to ask God for EVERY need and to in return give HIM thanks! What a wonderful Nana you are!!! I was Nana, too, until Sam was about two years old and he started calling me Nannie!!! ;-)

  3. Beautiful story! I have had many experiences with answered prayer, but the most important have been those moments when I need to feel of the love of my Heavenly Father. It is amazing how quickly the Lord answers prayers when we offer them in sincerity and faith!

  4. I don't pray as often as I should...or could for that matter. I thank God left and right for little things though, ...Right after I broke my hip, I couldn't dress myself..for weeks! So the day I could put a sock on myself, then a pair of jeans. Oh how I sent up some praises for that. It's those small things you never thing about and since this injury I've looked at all those small moments in life we normally take for granted. Painless moments in the day don't go past me without me saying a thanks anymore, I'm grateful for just being able to heal each day. To make it as far as I have so far. The struggle is there but when I past a hurdle? It just makes it that much more meaningful :)

    Happy Sunday Becky

  5. What a lovely moment with your grandchild. I have had many prayers answered. But I often forget to pray about the little things. Thank you for reminding me about the importance of prayer even for the littlest concerns. I hope you have a great evening.

  7. What a beautiful story and a great reminder that God is interested in both big and small concerns. I try to teach this to my kids as well. We have prayed for lost toys, books, clothes, etc. and God has been faithful in answering their little prayers of faith.

What a great lesson you're teaching your granddaughter that will remain with her the rest of her life.

  9. It's good to see that you are back.

I bet it hurts to type. They have computers that will insert text when you talk. It will even put in punctuation.

I'm glad your granddaughter got her drink.

  11. You're so beautiful, Becky Jane. I love how you found beauty in a difficult situation and turned this into a teaching moment with your grand. :) Something similar happened to me, once, involving a door. I wrote about it, here: http://brandeeshafer.blogspot.com/2011/05/who-can-open-door.html

I am blessed to have visited you, today, and I am praying RIGHT NOW for your physical comfort.
