Portrait of a Hero - With a Twist

Every Friday I've enjoyed introducing you to different Heroes.  Special people who have RISEN ABOVE the challenges given them.  Today, I'm putting a twist on Portrait of a Hero.

Throughout our lives we all have had HERO's.  The world teaches that anyone from superman to rock stars are candidates for our admiration.  Several of us consider our parents or a sibling to be our hero.

Today, I'd like to hear who is your Hero from the scriptures...Most of us consider Jesus Christ to be the greatest hero of all time, which He is, so aside from Him, who do you admire, or wish to be more like?

My Scripture Hero Is_______________________

Please share with me who your scripture hero is
and why by using the comment box!

My Heroes are found in the Book Of Mormon.  2000 young men go to war against the wicked Lamanites and none of these young men are killed.  All of them attribute their success to their mothers, who taught them to have faith in Christ and never doubt.  I love these young men and their Moms!

  2. I think mine would have to be Hannah. I just love her story.

  3. What a great question, Becky Jane! It's tough to decide but think I'd have to go with Paul. He fearlessly walked in his purpose and passion. He developed his faith and freely gave it away to others.

  4. Karen, I'm going to have to re-read Hannah's story! Thanks for reminding me of her.

Shannon, I'm reading Pauls writings now and I keep getting more and more grateful for his relationship with our Savior and his teachings! Thanks!

  5. That is a really good question. I will have to think about it. Although I wonder it might be Noah! Well I will think some more on this. Thanks for the inspiration!

  6. Grandma Bonnie, Noah is an amazing prophet...can you imagine being cooped up with your kids and animals for such a long time? Where did he and his wife go for date night...lol

  7. I'm going with Micah. Micah reproaches unjust leaders, defends the rights of the poor against the rich and powerful, and preaches social justice; while looking forward to a world at peace. Plus my son's name is Mica; a derivative of Micah.

  9. What a great question Becky Jane. There are many heroes that I can think of, but I will have to go with Paul. He never hesitated to stand up for his beliefs, no matter who or what opposed him. It is because of his dedication that Christianity found a foothold in the ancient world and eventually grow into a belief that changed the world. I have not met or seen Jesus, but I know he exits, I know his love. I am thankful for all the people before us that believed, so we can know about Jesus an all that he has done for us.

Thanks for linking up to the Motivational Monday Blog Hop!
