For the next few months, I'm going to be posting about our life adventures in a motel!2 adults and 3 teens sharing 1 motel room with 1 bathroom (did I mention 2 of the teens are girls?) There will be humorous posts, drama posts, and posts of insanity....but it will all be fun! Did I mention that CL and I are sharing a motel room with our 3 teens? Find out why HERE!

Todays Monday post: Unforgettable Comments
"Next time we move I’m just packing my deodorant and scriptures!"
"Watching all my worldly possessions drive away in the U-Haul and me being left behind…I guess that’s what it’s like when we die only in reverse! "
The wisdom of a teenager:
Monday- "We've got plenty of time to pack!"
Tuesday
– "I just got home from school, give me a break. I can pack later."
-later that afternoon: "I think we
should hurry and get everything packed by Thursday night so there’s not
much to do on Friday." (her friend just called and is coming to help on Friday after school.)
-that evening: "What if we don’t
get everything packed by Saturday?"
Comments made now that we're living in a motel:
JOKA: “Remember a couple of months ago when we prayed that we (meaning the kids) would learn to get along better? Now we live together in one room…it’s like the Lord is teaching us!”
JOKA:
“Mom, now that we’re moving away from all our friends, I need to get my own
cell phone. That way I can text them and we can still stay friends.”
MOM: “Nope, you’re not getting a cell phone.”
JOKA: “Then how will I be able to visit with my old friends?”
MOM: “Well, I guess you’ll have to do it the Old-fashioned way…use a regular telephone!”
MOM: “Nope, you’re not getting a cell phone.”
JOKA: “Then how will I be able to visit with my old friends?”
MOM: “Well, I guess you’ll have to do it the Old-fashioned way…use a regular telephone!”
"Why are you always
touching me? You’re always touching me I
can’t stand you touching me anymore.
I’ve created a no-touching-me contract and you just better not touch me
anymore."
"Seriously, do you have to throw my deodorant? You're acting like a little kid?"
(Note: the bathroom we're all sharing has a lock that doesn't work.)
Joka: "I'm going in the bathroom so nobody better come in."
Tatty: "I gotta come in for just a second."
Joka: "NO! You can't come in."
Tatty walks in anyway...
Joka: "Tatty, you are so immature, I told you not to come in and you came in anyway."
CL: "Life is hard, but when
you’re stupid it’s even harder!"(Spoken like a true father of 11 kids...hehehehe)
So how long are you staying in the motel???
ReplyDeleteWith just 2 of us in Las Vegas for 5 weeks and one bathroom.... It wasn't easy and neither of us slept that well.
We're hear for 3-4 MONTHS! It gets pretty crazy sometimes!
DeleteAhhhh...the joys of family trips. Hotel room stays can always go either way can't they? With us, it's always looking forward to a night filled with elbows in our ribs and knees in our bellies as each of us sleeps with one of the kids as a "special treat."
ReplyDeleteIf only this was a trip. But then, maybe it is a trip...to the cliffs of insanity!
DeleteOHMYGOODNESS. I would not survive. I mean, I guess I would but not with all of my marbles. And that is with three kids - two who are not teenagers but tweens and a three year old who thinks she is a teenager. You rock!
ReplyDeleteKristie, your comment is great! I may loose all my marbles, but at least I have my rock! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteLove these quotes! Being in close quarters always draws a family closer together!
ReplyDeleteWe've been blessed with some extra special moments. This is a family strengthening adventure. Hopefully we'll all survive it! LOL
DeleteHang in there and keep writing down those comments. Ha!
ReplyDeleteI think next time our family is under stress I will keep track of what we say...makes it all into an adventure.
Hope to hear from you soon! Hate to think I'm the only one having all this fun! LOL
Deleteoooo, sounds like a blast! (just kidding, i hope you get out soon!)
ReplyDeleteSam, when are you coming to join the fun?
DeleteBy the time this is over, you will have a whole book about it, and a really funny one, too. Reminding me of Erma Bombeck! This is making me so thankful for my nice house for sure, and no crowding!
ReplyDeleteHow about "Diary of a Mom Gone Mad" for the title? Ha!
DeleteLove your heart....but I think it's so neat that you're documenting the adventure!!! It's gonna be a long....llloooonnngggg....3-4 months!!!
ReplyDeleteYou're right Deb. It's only been 3 weeks so far..
DeleteOh my goodness Becky. I will be looking forward to these posts. If only the walls of that motel room could talk, eh? What a hoot and I love your outlook on this adventure. XOXO
ReplyDeleteMy walls better not talk...they know what CL and I have been saying about our kids! LOL
DeleteHi....nice to meet you. I'm so glad you stopped by to introduce yourself, otherwise I probably wouldn't have known you at all. You're in the middle of a big move? These comments are priceless. I do hope that you're going to copy all of them and then burn these comments on a disk for future reference. LOL
ReplyDeleteYou have my sympathies...two teen-aged girls and one bathroom. Oh get out the white flag...and surrender while you can. [kidding]
do stop by often or when you get a chance, not only am I hootin' anni, I've been called Calgon oftentimes...when you need to be taken away...well, y'know how it goes.
Thanks for stopping by. Love the white flag comment! I just might need one soon!
Deleteps....I am now your newest follower [on Friends Connect -Google]
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be crazy!!!! Crazy fun I hope :)
ReplyDeleteLove the saying....watching all your stuff drive off is like dying In reverse :)
Good luck xxx
Leigh @oneandoneequalstwinfun.com
Happy to hear from you Leigh, with twins your time is precious!
Deleteoh my goodness! that is so funny! I can seriously wait until I get teenagers, I know i'm not ready for that part! lol.
ReplyDeleteThe lock seriously doesn't work!? With little kids that wouldn't be a problem, but with older kids, definitely would be.
I LOVE your husband's quote thought! lol
Well if everyone survives this then you'll even be a happier family in the new home and if not everyone survives then there will be more room for you and CL eh?
ReplyDeleteYour too funny! I just hope i'm one of the survivors...I want the prize after all this is over! LOL
DeleteBecky!! Those are really funny. I don't have a teenager yet BUT I can relate to their "wisdom" recalling my days as a teenager myself.
ReplyDeleteOh my. I hope everyone comes out of this okay. Good luck.
ReplyDeletewow, 3-4 months, Becky - good luck :)
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to this. You know, back in the Philippines, I've been living with my parents and 5 other siblings with just 2 bedrooms and ONE bathroom for my entire 25 yrs of life.... so this has really made me chuckly because it made me re-live some of those funny and not so funny memories of living in a 60sq m house having to share ONE bathroom with 7 other people (whom luckily are my family) :-D
Spanish Pinay
I love the 'cell phone' part. Ahhh, the journey that looks ahead of you and with teenagers. I'm sure you're just hoping your house will be finished soon. Keeping you in my prayers...and remember there's never enough deodorant when kids are around. Have a wonderful week :) <3
ReplyDeleteJust the adventure to make a family thankful for all the blessing before them. I love the no touch contract. Lol, I dare say you won't be bored for a long while.
ReplyDeleteBecky, these are great quotes. I can't wait for more! You gotta laugh! xo
ReplyDeleteSounds like an adventure for sure! It may be tough now, but when you look back at it later on, you will certainly laugh and enjoy the trip down memory lane :)
ReplyDeleteHi Becky,
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear about your moving adventure. Sorry I haven't commented in awhile. Life has been crazy! You don't know anything about that, right?
Love,
Tina
Lol, I loved the 'no touching contract'! That's so original :) I think my twins would benefit from something like that!
ReplyDeleteHi Becky,
ReplyDeleteMy two children and I lived in a tiny boat in Durban harbour for a little over a year. No bathroom and no doors. Crowded wasn't the word, more like over crowded :)
We had an absolutely fabulous time together, not only did we learn to really love each other but we also learned how not to collect STUFF, no space. All three of us are now very close, non geographically, and non of has lots of STUFF. You are in for a life changing treat, I know, it happened to us.
Bless you and your tribe, Geoff.
